There are billions of Humans on this earth but there are only 5-10% of them who are actually successful in the field that they have chosen. You call it coincidence or you call it luck, whatever you feel like, when you read about their stories one thing is certain and that’s unconditional hard work and mindset to learn. That’s the ultimate reality. If we look at the story of NTR Kathanayakudu, which is just the first part of the two-part series. The first part talks about the Cinema career of India’s first superstar N. T. Rama Rao. The second part which is to be released on February 9th will be on his political life. Bala Krishna is the sixth son of NTR. Balayya as his fans calls him has acted in the role of his father and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NTR. To me, Bala Krishna has done complete justice to the role of N. T. Rama Rao. It’s difficult to live up to the expectations of the fans and the acting experience as well as NTR being his father, Bala Krishna was able to match the charm and dialogue delivery of the legend. Vidya Balan for me has been an excellent actor in the role of Basavatarakam. Completely got into the role and lived the character. Apart from these two main characters, there were many other supporting roles played by Rana, Prakash Raj, Satyanarayana, Sumanth, Vennela Kishore, Poonam Bajwa and many more. All of them did their part very nicely and brought life to the story of N. T. Rama Rao.
Yes, Biopic has become a trend these days and we have seen a lot of them coming into the market and many are up for release in 2019. After watching this movie, not sure if we could see any other biopic which can influence and inspire people as much as this movie. Making a Biopic of a legendary actor like Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao isn’t an easy task at all. The name of the superstar itself carries a lot of weight and audience wouldn’t agree to anything less than blockbuster.
‘Krish’ known for his masterpiece movies like Kancche and Mahanati has delivered yet again. His story writing, screenplay and direction was outstanding and stands an example for many young movie directors. The story is built really well with little comedy, emotions and life turning events in the life of NTR. The story does drag a bit and it’s for as long as 170 mins, but the audience can’t ask for a movie with a lot of action and drama in a biopic. Krish still could’ve picked up some action scenes from the ‘Movies’ of NTR or Drama scenes from the movies of NTR but still, he chose to keep it simple and worked mostly on the character and personality of the N. T. Rama Rao.
Two scenes which stand out in the movie are the scene where NTR gets to know his son’s death and still he continues to act only because of the other cast whose dates would not be available at the same time. That’s the amount of dedication he has shown towards his profession. The next scene is the single take and single shot for as long as 20 hours for Seeta Rama Kalyanam movie. In this scene, NTR had to stand on his knees for 20 hours and he successfully does it before collapsing after the shot. That’s NTR for you. No wonder why I had always been inspired by this man since my childhood days. Didn’t know anything about him apart from watching his movies but still respected him for his tremendous acting, oratory and dialogue delivery. One can still complain about the length of the movie, understand that 3 hours is nothing if you look at the vast career and sacrifices by the man N. T. Rama Rao. The movie ends with NTR starting the party ‘Telugu Desam Party’. Let’s wait till the 2nd part to be released on Feb 9th and see how his political life was taken forward!
