Chapter 7 Gnana-Yignana Yoga Verse 10
Shloka
Ye chaiva saattvikaa bhaavaa raajasaastaamasaashcha ye;
Matta eveti taanviddhi na twaham teshu te mayi.
Translation
Whatever being and objects that are pure, active and inert,
know that they proceed from Me. They are in Me, yet I am not in them.
Interpretation
Continuing to talk about Him and the self of God, Lord Krishna tells few more things about Him to Arjuna. Here He talks about the objects and human beings that a pure active and inert. Pure, is something a person would get if he follows the rule of law and maintains the chaste way of life. A being will be active if he continues to pursue the path of spirituality through meditation and seeking knowledge. Inert a person becomes when he remains stable in every situation. Such a person proceeds from Him, and such people will be in Him.
Extending Interpretation to Mankind’s Life!
Here we need to understand a very complex point that Lord Krishna says. He says that objects and beings that are pure proceed from Him, they are all in Him and He is not in them. What is the meaning of that? God created everything but He is not in anything. The secret of understanding the nature of God is, God will never be with the people who are impure and does bad actions. God will be with the people who are pure. God will be with them, because they follow God and understand the real purpose of their lives. Such kind of people proceed from God.
The other part of sentence is such pure people are in God but God is not in them. This statement requires a clear understanding. A good person who follows his dharma and is pure in his actions will always be close to God and will be in God, but God is not in them because God always stands outside and creates beings and runs this whole universe. He cannot restrict Himself in one particular individual or individuals, so He is free from everyone. Upanishads say that God is inside you, but that means God being your creator, God has left a mark of Him inside you but He can never be inside you. If He is inside you, then You by the virtue of that become God. That can never happen and what happens is all the beings going into God.
